Hey There! My name is Amanda Finn and I’m a writer.
In fact, I’ve always been a writer with notebooks of childhood scribblings to prove it. Now instead of wide-ruled notebooks, my modes are digital and print publications.
I have been published in American Theatre, Huffington Post, Yahoo, Best Life, Airfare Watchdog, Chicago Reader, Newcity, Ms. Magazine, and more. I currently have over 550 bylines across multiple disciplines.
I am a proud member of the American Theatre Critics Association (secretary and executive committee member), the Society of American Travel Writers, the North American Travel Journalists Association, and the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association.
In addition to being a writer, I’m also a content creator! At Finn Writes LLC I work with small (but mighty) businesses to make their copy and content pop.

Sometimes my work means I get to interview incredible artists and creators. Some of my favorite interviews have included Margaret Cho, André De Shields, Eric Vale (pictured above), and Helen McCarthy.
Other times my work brings me to the other side of the globe. So far I’ve traveled to 18 countries and 24 states with no plans to stop anytime soon.
Travel writing reinvigorates me in the same way theater does. Together they’re the perfect combination for my dream job.
And the rest of the time?
I just write about what I know.
Like the personal essay I wrote for Huffington Post in 2020. That’s the first time I went super viral which was a learning experience, to say the least. HuffPo has republished it every Pride Month since and I still hear from folks around the world about how my piece helped them.
